EMILE is a project about the importance of emigrant letters as a historical source. Their website contains lots of interesting information, including an excellent article about why these letters are such an important and useful resource.

The website can be viewed in Swedish and in English.

They have many resources on offer here: databases, censuses, and information about public records in Sweden. Some of their databases are free to try before you need to buy a subscription.
