Canada – automated genealogy project

If you’re looking for links to various Canadian censuses a good place to start is the Canada automated genealogy website.

The project is run by volunteers who are collecting information from other sources, such as microfilm, and adding it to their online databases.

Remember it’s an ongoing project which is staffed by volunteers so be patient if what you need isn’t there yet. At the time of writing they had completed the following:

1901 Census
1911 Census

Ongoing projects include
1906 Census
1851 Census

There are several other resources on their website including links to some military and other records of interest to the genealogist.
