Tracing South Asian Roots

This is an interesting area of genealogy but until recently not much had been published on the subject. However, although this field of research is still in its early stages, more people are becoming interested in researching their South Asian family history.

A great place to start is the Moving Here website and their section on South Asian Roots.

Written by Abi Husainy of the National Archives, it tells you how to get started, provides sources of information, and how to “pull it all together”.
