The Women’s Institute run a number of courses including a Tracing Your Ancestors weekend.
Whether you are a beginner, or an enthusiast with some experience which you want to develop further, you will be sure to find this informal but comprehensive course will offer you all the information you need to trace your family tree back through several generations. They will consider not only the primary sources such as civil registration, census, wills, parish registrars etc., but also the most useful software that will assist you in your research. Following the course you should be in a position to continue your research and begin preparation of a written family history.
